Partnership for Patients HRET/AHA Hospital Engagement Network
Under contract to the Health Research & Educational Trust (HRET), an affiliate of the American Hospital Association (AHA), Cynosure Health is supporting the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Partnership for Patients (PfP) campaign. The PfP campaign is designed to improve the quality, safety and affordability of healthcare; and its goals are to reduce inpatient harm by 40 percent and readmissions by 20 percent by 2013. If these goals are met, the PfP campaign will save more than 60,000 lives and up to $35 billion across the healthcare system over the next three years.
Cynosure Health is supporting the efforts of the HRET Hospital Engagement Network (HEN), a group of over 1,600 hospitals from 34 state hospital associations working together to help improve the quality, safety, and affordability of healthcare. The Cynosure Health team is responsible for providing best practice education, developing improvement capabilities, implementing collaborative improvement projects, and assisting with leadership engagement within the following topic areas:
- Adverse drug events (ADE)
- Injuries from falls and immobility
- Obstetrical adverse events
- Pressure ulcers
- Preventable readmissions
- Venous thromboembolism (VTE)
- Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP)
