The Patient Centered Model in Behavioral Health – Can We Apply it to Other Patient Types
Teresa, the mother of a son using behavioral health care inpatient services, told her story of the challenges and gaps in care she experienced and why she got involved. A Healthcare Partnership was formed with community members, resulting in a psychiatric emergency services program targeted to a diverse population. This presentation revealed the importance of involving community members in order to change the approach to psychiatric care.
